I’ve been a bit absent but going to post a couple of reflections on the RV and travel we’ve been doing.

Since I’m up early, and prefer to shower in the morning it’s not practical to use the bathroom in the RV. I’ve noted that most campgrounds have decent showering and bathroom facilities. Some are older, some are new like the one pictured below in Woodward Oklahoma. As long as they have hooks for hanging clothes and hot water  they’re fine with me.  I use shower time to reflect on the night before and to confirm that the day ahead is a blessing.

A Good Shower Room

Oklahoma morning at the Woodward RV camp

After my shower, Windy and I  go for a morning walk from 1/2 to 2 miles depending on the area. It’s part of the routine we’ve developed. I love early mornings and watching the sun come up. I have noted that it’s been getting darker earlier in the evening and sunrises are getting later. Winter is close and you can feel it on the central plains.

Squirrel Stare

Above is a video of Windy watching a squirrel in the Survivor tree at the Oklahoma Memorial. Just kidding! However, Windy stayed in that exact position for 3 to 5 minutes. The only part of her that moved was her eyes watching a squirrel scamper out and back on a limb. I’ve never understood why she’s such a squirrel hater. I guess it’s the terrier in her DNA mix. It was amazing to watch her just stay rock-solid for that long. She has a quiet determination, usually demonstrated when staring at you when you are eating.

Hobo Ass Fix on the 5th Wheel

Laura mentioned in her post last night that we had a problem on the road. Wasn’t anything serious but we kept things from blowing around with duct tape. I guess it’s about time to go out and figure out the long-term repair. Hoping it will just be a couple of wire nuts and some electrical tape. One thing you can say about a RV, just like owning a house, there is always something!

But before venturing out in the cool and getting busy, I think I’ll have one more cup of coffee ?
