Green Light For The Big Race

It’s a nice sunny (okay hot) day for the Monster Series Race.  The humidity is back in full force today.  At noon, Ken, Dick & Steve started over to the track.

I rode my bike so I can quickly make trips back/forth to check on the dogs left in the trailer.

Windy says “When they leave me alone, I rearrange the bedding to suit me!”

We’re in row thirty-three   Ken is glad there is an elevator that goes to row thirty,  so he only has to walk up three rows. I don’t blame him…..as hot as it is,  I am only too glad to use the elevator myself.

Ken & Steve are ready for the race to start.

As races go, this one was pretty boring. Translation – there weren’t any wrecks!  Well….there was one, but it was almost at the end of the race and it took Dick’s driver out of the race.

The winner burns rubber after the race.

After the race, we hung around in the stands for awhile, waiting for the crowd to clear out.  It was nice to get up and stretch.

When we got back to the trailer, it was about 6:00 p.m.  Steve hadn’t eaten all day (the rest of us had breakfast and snacked during the afternoon) so you would think he would be starving,  but the only ones grumbling about being hungry were me, Dick & Ken.

We had barbecued hamburgers & ate outside. Once the sun went down it was very nice out.

No Wonder California Is So Crowded

It’s usually alot of fun to go to the races, but between a boring race and the heat, this one was not very good.  The fun part of the day was dinner and enjoying a cooler evening.  I think we all came away with a greater appreciation of California weather.
