We left Winnemucca at 9:30 a.m and started our day’s journey to Boise.

We decided to stop for a bite to eat (so much for eating in the trailer….lol) and found a great place in Rome, Oregon called “The Rome Station”.  Very good food and super friendly people.  The weather was so nice we were able to eat outside and the dogs were welcomed on the patio.  If you ever go there, Ken says he can hardely recommend the cold roast beef sandwich. Delicious!

The drive from Rome up to Boise went well and we sure saw some beautiful scenery along the way.  We rolled into the Boise area at about 4:30pm.   We were about two miles from the exit to the RV Park, when we heard a loud bang !   My first thought was one of the bikes had fallen off, but then people driving by started pointing down at our trailer tire. Sure enough, Ken could see remnants of our tire flying off.  Being my usual cool self, I started screaming “take the next exit!”, but my hubby thought we could limp all the way to the RV park since we were so close.  I was smelling something burning and I just knew the trailer was  going to catch on fire.  Ken pulled over to make sure nothing like that was happening, and determined we could make it into the RV park…and we did.,

While the guys put the spare tire on, I called around and found that there was a Les Schwab Tire Center just a short drive away.  To make things even better, they had four RV tires in the right size in stock !   It only took about 30 minutes (and almost a thousand dollars later) to get the new tires on and balanced….whew….we sure lucked out there.

After all that  excitement, we felt we should treat ourselves out to dinner.  I know….I know….so much for eating meals in the trailer !   We went to a place called the Copper Kettle which was near the RV Park.  Those who know me can probably guess what I had……SALAD 🙂

We went home after dinner and just relaxed, thankful that if we  had to have a blowout, it happened where it did.
