The morning started out a little dreary but soon cleared up and the sun came out. Skies are crisp cool and clear and you can see forever. Before leaving Tucumcari we made a stop at the Route 66 Museum. It was a compact interesting  little Museum.  There is a section of pavement out by the convention center that’s the original Route 66.

Route 66 is called the Mother Road. It has a little bit more meaning for me since my mom actually came out this way in the thirties along with other Grapes of Wrath migrants from the central states. I know it was a lot easier for me than it was for her.

We’re on the road to Albuquerque, looking for a good Tex-Mex restaurant for a late lunch/ early dinner. Or as Laura calls it breakfast!?
